Rod Sánchez is an award winning graphic designer & illustrator.
He is a Visual Communication Designer and Artist working across the disciplines of Painting, Illustration, UI/UX – Digital Design, Print Design, Animation, Electronic Music Composition, Music Video Direction, and Audio/Visual Performance.

Motion Graphics: As a motion graphic designer at Barker + DZP, Rod re-designed The Weather Channel Network's "Day Planner" program logo and on-air broadcast graphics/identity. Rod's animated short "Maddy in the Never-Ending Room" was exhibited at the Random House Art Show in 2008.

Online + Print Marketing Design: Working as a graphic designer in the Random House Children’s Books, Marketing Design Department, Rod created marketing design solutions and advertising campaigns for various online and print media promotions. His previous graphic design experience includes creating channel print materials for TV shows such as "Seinfeld" & "Friends" for the TBS Superstation Network. His experience at Liz Claiborne includes creating illustrated graphics printed on apparel for the young mens clothing line "Curve."

Illustration: Rod Sánchez's illustrations have appeared on the cover jackets of several Knopf titles for Random House Inc. Recently, he received two Silver Design Awards by The Create Design Awards for the illustration and design of the "Random House Children's Books Fall 2008 Catalog Cover," and the sell-in brochure for "Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go." These awards were published in the 2008 Nov. + Dec. issue of Create Magazine. His paintings have also been part of numerous exhibitions, in New York, & abroad.

Exhibitions: Rod Sanchez's work has been part of numerous national and international exhibitions.  In the United States, his work has been exhibited in such galleries as: Lyons Wier Gallery, Parsons Gallery, and Random House Inc., as well as Wexner Center for the Arts, and Exposures Gallery at the Ohio State University. Internationally, his work has been exhibited at:  MECA Mediterráneo Centro Artistico in Almería; Spain, and The School of Fine Arts at the University of Granada; Spain.  Rod's Audio/Visual performances exploring "Live Cinema" have been exhibited at various venues in New York including: The Tishman Auditorium at the New School, the hERE Arts Center, the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and Columbia University.

Education: Rod Sanchez holds a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Design & Technology from Parsons The New School for Design. A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Visual Communication Design and a Minor in Spanish Language & Literature from the
Ohio State University.

Rod also says, that he utilizes the mediums of paint and digital technologies to share what God reads to him in a picture book...
